WHAT IS THE DURATION OF A CLASS?Our most typical group class format meets once a week for 2 hours over 10 weeks.

WHEN ARE THE CLASSES?The group classes are held during Summer. Please check the specific dates under the class you wish to enroll for.

WHAT IF I'M IN BETWEEN LEVELS, OR UNSURE WHAT MY LEVEL IS?No worries, to accurately determine what your level is before signing up for class, take our online placement test.

WHAT HAPPENS IF THERE AREN'T ENOUGH PEOPLE IN MY GROUP CLASS?In the event of low enrollment for a group class (less than 3 people), we might reschedule the class to a later start date. In this case, students will have the option to transfer their credit to a different class, or to get a refund if the new dates do not fit their schedule.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I SIGN UP FOR A CLASS BUT WANT TO CHANGE OR CANCEL IT?As of January 1, 2024: You can request a refund or transfer your registration to another group class at no cost up to five (5) days prior to your course start date. After this date, a refund is not possible under any circumstances.

A GROUP CLASS IS MARKED AS FULL CAN I STILL SIGN UP?No. However, you can be added to a wait list and you’ll be notified if a spot becomes available, but we strongly encourage you to find another option that works for you.

I SEE A CLASS THAT WORKS WELL FOR MY SCHEDULE, BUT IT HAS ALREADY STARTED. CAN I STILL JOIN IT?Yes, it’s definitely possible to join a class that has already started, if you join us within the first 3 weeks! As soon as we receive your registration, we’ll send you all the necessary info as well as a summary of the lesson(s) you missed so you can get caught up.

CAN MY GROUP CLASS TUITION BE APPLIED TO PRIVATE LESSONS?Under no circumstances can a group class credit be used towards private lessons. If you would like to sign up for private lessons in addition to group classes, you must pay the additional fee.

HOW CAN I BOOK A PRIVATE LESSONFirst, identify whether you would like to schedule Standard or Corporate lessons. For Standard lessons for one person, follow steps here. For Business lessons, contact apprendre.francais1@gmail.com

HOW LONG IS A PRIVATE LESSON?Our private lessons are booked in one-hour increments. But of course, if you wish to schedule two-hour sessions, you can simply book two one-hour sessions back to back. :)

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN STANDARD AND CORPORATE LESSONS?Standard private lessons are sessions that take place online or at one locations agreed upon with the student. We cover materials within our curriculum or conversation practice. We can also cover material outside of our curriculum (ie: DELF, DALF, TEF, exam prep, A-level) Business private lessons include: sessions that take place at your office and/or specifically designed for your professional needs. Our fields of specialization include: Business, Legal, Fashion, Medical, Diplomatic, Human rights and international relations, Tourism, Gastronomy and Oenology, Cinema (practice for a role and accent reduction).

WHERE DO PRIVATE LESSONS TAKE PLACE?The Private lessons generally take place at your teacher's house, in Corsham. However, the lessons can also be taken: - Online : on Zoom - Hybrid : both face-to-face and online - Location in town: café or library - at your Office At the moment, we do not offer lessons at our student's home.

IF I PURCHASE A PRIVATE LESSONS PACKAGE, HOW LONG IS IT VALID FOR?Private lessons packages are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. After that, unused hours can no longer be scheduled and a new package must be purchased.

CAN I CANCEL A PRIVATE LESSONS PACKAGE?Yes, of course, you can change your mind! Up to 14 days after the purchase of the lessons pack and if no lessons have yet been taken, we will issue a refund. :) However, sorry, as soon as a lesson has been taken, no total or partial refund will be granted.

CAN TWO PEOPLE TAKE PRIVATE LESSONS TOGETHER?They absolutely can: the more, the merrier! The rate applied for two people will be 1.5 times the regular rate. If you wish to book a class for two, simply choose a "Two-gether Private Lesson" here.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO A PRIVATE LESSON?For both Standard and Business private lessons, you can cancel and reschedule your lesson by notifying your teacher by email at apprendre.francais1@gmail.com Please note: If you cancel a lesson you have booked less than 12 hours before the start of the class, your lesson will be lost. No rescheduling or refund will be possible.

WHO CAN TAKE A TRIAL CLASS?Trial classes are open to both teens (above 15) and adults.

IS THE TRIAL CLASS REQUIRED?No, but we always recommend taking a trial class to make sure you’re at the right level before signing up. Especially if you’ve already taken French classes. Our trial class is completely FREE!

WHERE DOES THE TRIAL CLASS TAKE PLACE?All trial classes are held online, over Zoom.

CAN I TAKE MORE THAN ONE TRIAL CLASS?Trial classes are limited to one per person, so we can make sure that all of our prospective students have a chance to try one out!

IS THERE A COURSE BOOK?Yes. We use our own custom course books for levels 0 through 5. They contain the entire class curriculum including homework. All students taking part in Group Classes are required to purchase the course book corresponding to the level they signed up for. The course book will be available as an add-on to your class purchase at registration. Levels 6 and 7 use different materials every week as basis for conversation which will be given to you by your teacher. Students taking private lessons, do not need to purchase the coursebook. All materials will be provided at no extra cost.

ARE THERE ADDITIONAL LEARNING MATERIALS AVAILABLE?Yes. We can suggest more level-based exercise books (exam preparation, grammar, A-level...) as well as flash cards, audio-books and movies. For our students, we have special discounts with publishers, however all extra material needs to be purchased on your own.

WHAT IF I PURCHASED A SPOT IN A WORKSHOP AND I AM UNABLE TO ATTEND?Workshop registrations can be refunded up to 5 days before the event; after that, workshop registrations are non refundable and cannot be transferred to a later event, but you’re welcome to let another person use your spot.

DO YOU OFFER CLASSES FOR CHILDREN AND TEENS?We do not offer classes for children, sorry. We offer A-level support private lessons and revision group classes for teens aged 15 and above. Group classes are for adults only (18 and above).

HOW DO YOU PROCESS PAYMENTS?We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. After a transaction, your contact and payment details will not be stored on our servers.
